history-carrick-hill.docCarrick Hill is a ‘living monument’ to Sir Edward and Lady Hayward ( Ursula Barr-Smith) —I literally stumbled upon Ursula’s ‘100th’ birthday party and just happened to have my camera with me — wrote this article with assistance from Director,Richard Heathcote and various others mentioned in the article ( Australian Traveller) –John Dowie was at the party –see photograph — and this was one of the last public occasions he attended before his death in Autumn this year — I will be writing a major retrospective on him for ART MONTHLY magazine
ed_govhouse22.pdfAs one who has been to Government House on many occasions through the Australian Asian Association of SA, Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship and the Council for International Students SA ( CISSA), I decided an article needed to be written ( Collectables Magazine)partly to counter those in the media ( REX JORY in particular) who constantly harp about how it is underused etc etc — a similar article with a different focus was also published in the Adelaide Review — This involved several interviews with Penny Stratmann, the Secretary to the Governor as well as with Anthony Hurl, Tusmore Antiques re the furnishings and heritage of Govt House. The Governor of the time, Marjorie Jackson-Nelson AO CVO MBE also met me officially and unofficially during and after the process — and permission was given for me to take the photographs personally.
ed_beerlabels32.pdfAs a lover and collector of printed collectables I managed to acquire a beer label collection of some significance with some labels dating back to WW11 or even earlier –from all over the world —- this article was written for Collectables Magazine — Australia
